Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms of use govern your use of the Experioo mobile app and the experioo.com website. We've tried to keep them readable — no walls of legalese where a plain sentence will do. If anything is unclear, email us at info@a-t.design.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
The Experioo app and this website are operated by:
AT-Design GbR
Steinbahn 91
53721 Siegburg
Germany
Contact: info@a-t.design
These terms apply to the Experioo mobile app for iOS and Android and to the experioo.com website. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition to these terms. Where these terms conflict with mandatory terms of the app store you purchased through, the store's terms prevail.
2. The service
Experioo records your outdoor activities automatically in the background — walks, hikes, bike tours, runs, city trips, flights, commutes — and organizes them into a personal timeline with maps, statistics, and achievements. Optional social features let you share selected activities with people you choose. Experioo is under active development: features may be added, changed, or refined over time.
3. Account and eligibility
- You can use Experioo without registering in local mode. The app then creates a profile tied to your device — no email address or sign-in provider needed. Your activities are still synced to and processed on our servers, because that is how the service works; social features, however, are not available in local mode.
- You can optionally create a full account using your email address or a supported sign-in provider.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use Experioo, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
- Information you provide for your account must be accurate. Keep your sign-in credentials safe — your account is personal and may not be shared or transferred.
4. Your license to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Experioo app on devices you own or control. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or extract parts of the app except to the extent mandatory law (for example § 69e of the German Copyright Act, UrhG) permits it. You may not access our services in an abusive or automated way, for example by scraping, flooding, or circumventing technical safeguards.
5. Experioo Pro subscription
Some premium features are available through Experioo Pro, an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Price: the price is shown in the store's checkout before you confirm the purchase. It may vary by country and currency.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Managing and cancelling: subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your store's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play), not inside the app. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period; until then, Pro features remain available.
- Refunds: refund requests are handled through the respective store's refund process.
- Your statutory rights, including EU consumer withdrawal rights, remain unaffected. When you purchase through the stores, the store's purchase flow includes the consent step required for immediate delivery of digital content.
- Changes to Pro: the features included in Pro may change over time. If we materially reduce them during a period you have paid for, you can cancel in accordance with the store's rules.
6. Your content and conduct
Your activities, comments, reactions, and profile data remain yours — you retain all rights to them. You grant us the technical, non-exclusive license needed to host, process, and display this content, and to show it to exactly the audiences you choose through the app's visibility controls, connections, and groups. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required by law.
When using Experioo you agree not to:
- post unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others;
- harass, threaten, or impersonate other people;
- attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
We may remove content that violates these rules.
7. Third-party integrations
You can optionally connect third-party services (for example the provider of your sports watch) to import activities. These services are provided by their respective operators under their own terms, which apply to your use of them. You can revoke a connection at any time from inside the app.
8. Safety disclaimer
Outdoor activities are undertaken at your own risk. The data Experioo shows — routes, statistics, activity classifications — is provided for your information and enjoyment only. Experioo is not a navigation, safety, rescue, or medical tool, and you should not rely on it in safety-critical situations. Please also note that device settings such as battery-saving modes or operating-system restrictions can interrupt or prevent recording.
9. Availability and changes to the service
We work hard to keep Experioo available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, updates, or circumstances outside our control can lead to temporary downtime. We may modify or discontinue features; where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice.
10. Termination
- By you: you can stop using the app at any time and delete your account in the app — the details are described on the delete-account page.
- By us: we may suspend or terminate accounts in the event of serious or repeated violations of these terms, after a warning where appropriate.
- Pro subscriptions: for active subscription periods, the cancellation and refund rules of the respective store apply.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body, or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). In cases of slight negligence, we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual duties — duties whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely — and only up to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for a service of this kind. Where you use Experioo free of charge, we are additionally liable only to the extent the statutory rules for services provided free of charge provide. Any further liability is excluded.
12. Privacy
How we process personal data — what we collect, why, where it lives, and your rights — is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms with effect for the future, for example when the product or legal requirements change. We will announce material changes in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms where this is legally permissible.
14. Final provisions
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you habitually reside remain unaffected.
We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
Should individual provisions of these terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
